NEWS PAPER ARTICAL!

A popular Wigan baker has been found dead at his home - Ian Grundy, 39, was discovered at his house in Anderton Road, Ince, on June 16, by his wife Jayne, 36.
It is believed that he took his own life.

Today, his grief-stricken parents, who said they had no idea that the-father-of-two was so unhappy, only that he was exhausted and planning to take some time off work, paid tribute to a loving father, husband and their only child.

His mum Angela Grundy, 59, was at a conference in Bournemouth when she heard the news.

She said: "He was a thoughtful, loving lad, considerate with everybody, thankful and a good friend to a lot of people.
"He was well liked in Ince, everybody liked him, and we have had tremendous support from everybody since this terrible thing happened."

Dad Roy Grundy, 67, was at home when he had a phone calling telling him to come to his son's house.
He only discovered what had happened when he arrived.

Mr Grundy said: "We can't believe it, it was a terrible shock.
"When I arrived I didn't know what had happened but there were police and an ambulance.

"We always used to say to him 'If you need money or help then please come to us, we are here for you'.
"It is absolutely terrible, a real tragedy."

Well-liked Ian began working at Heaton's Bakery after leaving school aged 16. He moved to Lowthers as a semi-skilled fitter and ultimately Rathbones in Newtown where he worked for the past two years.

As a young man he joined the Boys' Brigade attached to Christ Church in Ince and in 1986 was presented with the prestigious Queen's award for his efforts there.

When the Queen opened Wigan Pier in 1986, Ian was in the guard of honour.

He met his wife Jayne through her aunt, who worked as a driver at Heaton's, and the couple were together for 18 months before getting married in November, 1990.

He was a keen fisherman, casual crown green bowls player and a horse racing fan.

Ian leaves two daughters Christine 16, and Amy, 10, as well as his wife Jayne and parents.
His funeral will take place at Christ Church, Ince, on Friday, June 27 at 2pm.

ALL MY LOVE TO YOU IAN XX

God saw you getting tired,
A cure was not meant to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered come with me.
With broken hearts we loved you,
As we heard you'd passed away,
Although we loved you deeply
We could not make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best!
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
A part of us went with you
The day God took you home.
A million times we'll miss you,
A million times we'll cry,
If love could have saved you
You never would have died
No farewells were spoken,
No time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knows why.
If tears could build a stairway,
And heartaches make a lane,
We'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again
